Orientation Services

  • The school counselling department has an important role in supporting the educational, social, emotional and behavioural development of the more than 500 students who attend our school's courses.
  • The three school counsellors offer individual and group counselling sessions.
  • When students are assigned to them the following elements are taken into account: the age of the students, the mother tongue spoken and the preferred school counsellor.
  • The activities of school counsellors cover the following areas:

 

  • Holding meetings at class level addressing different topics of discussion such as:
    • physical safety (in class, in school, in means of transport)
    • how can we block bullying?
    • self-awareness and personal development
    • emotional and behavioural self-control
    • developing communication skills
    • developing social skills
    • information management
    • learning management
    • career management
    • a healthy and balanced lifestyle
  • Individual or group counselling
    • to help students mediate conflicts they have with peers, teachers or parents
    • short-term counselling services for students during school hours
  • Psychological assessment of students
    • already enrolled IMSB
    • of those who want to become students of IMSB
  •  Early intervention
    •  identifying students with learning difficulties, with psychological and/or behavioural problems
    • providing guidance to parents on mental health issues
  •  Services for children with special educational needs (SES)
    • facilitating the integration of students with SEN in school
    • monitoring the implementation of personalized intervention plans aimed at students with SEN or learning difficulties
  • Vocational guidance
    • it helps students prepare for college or choose a possible professional career
